Local 33 has a jurisdiction that covers 60 counties in central Iowa, into Nebraska, and South Dakota; we also have members who travel outside of our jurisdiction.

HVAC/R Technician
Residential, Commercial, or Industrial HVAC/R
As an HVAC/R tech you will be called to install, perform preventative maintenance on, or repair heating and air conditioning systems such as; boilers, furnaces, rooftop units, fan coils, pumps, chillers, split systems, heat pumps, geo thermal, air handlers, cooling towers, makeup air units, and variable refrigerant flow systems to name a few. In these duties you will Braze, Solder, weld, screw pipe, work with electrcity, work with automation controls, work with refrigerant and more. We have a 5 year apprenticeship where you will learn on the job, in school, and be paid while you learn. Our apprentices graduate with 2 Iowa statewide licenses and a long list of certifications and qualifications. You are eligible to recieve your G.I. Bill while going through apprenticeship.
