This role will serve as an instrumentation specialist responsible for designing and integrating with aircraft systems, mechanical or electrical, as needed to support the collection of data for FAA/MIL certification requirements. Additionally, the role will require maintaining NIST standards for calibration and verification of the measurements, documenting and controlling all calibrations, and supporting all hardware/software requirements both for the data acquisition systems and the IADS real-time display. Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements: *Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps. *Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity. *Rarely lifting or carrying up to 20 lbs. Working Conditions: *Rarely exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)*Rarely exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials. *Rarely exposed to loud noises.Skills: Must-haves:*Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.*Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools.*Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.*Hands-on experience with aircraft instrumentation systems.*Experience with flight testing sensor designs, specifications, and installations, including strain gauges, accelerometers, etc.Preferred:*Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.*Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes.*Familiarity with telemetry systems.*Familiarity with communication protocols such as 1553, ARINC 429.
